NOTODONTIDAE

1994 Buff-tip Phalera bucephala (Linnaeus, 1758)

The first record was in 1938 at Elland and was said to appear in great numbers., Although the Buff tip is  not a common species in Calderdale, I usually trap one or
two a week throughout May and June,one late record was on the 19^th July 2001(PT)

Paul recorded the following at Park Road ,1999 x 11 ,2000 x 20

 Larvae at crimsworth Dean on  September 19th 2005(MH)

2007  records were  from Hebden Bridge (6)Todmorden (2)Northowram (1)recorded at light between 21^st May and 29^th July.

1995 Puss Moth Cerura vinula (Linnaeus, 1758)

Once plentiful in Elland but rarely seen ,last recorded in 1948 & 1952.Attempts to reintroduce this species in 1967/8

Recorded as a larve at Elland most years on sallow and poplar 1999-2007(PT)

1 at light at Wyvern Terrace 3^rd May 2007(MH) and 2 at Midgley June 2009 and 1 in 2010.(NC)

1997 Sallow Kitten Furcula furcula (Clerck, 1759)

Recorded at light as follows -

1 at Cromwell Bottom 7th  and 12^th August 1999 and  14^th August 2001.

1 at Park Road 22^nd May 1999 and  27^th May and  Jun 27^th , 2001

1 at Moor End Gardens, Pellon on 5^th June 2002 amd  7^th July 2006.

1 at Todmorden 17^th July 2006

1 at Northowram 23^rd July 2009

1 found egg laying in Todmorden and at Brookfoot Brighouse in  June 2009 (BL & M&Ksharpe).larvae reaered through  

2000 Iron Prominent Notodonta dromedarius (Linnaeus, 1767)

Recorded at light between  29^th April and 21^st August.Larvae found feeding on aspen at Hall wood Todmorden 15^th August 2009.

Recorded at light between  15^th April and 19^th August throughout the area.

2007 Swallow Prominent Pheosia tremula (Clerck, 1759)

A lot scarcer than lesser Swallow Prominent which the table below shows,recorded at light between 6^th May and 26^th August..
