CATOCALINAE

2452 Red Underwing Catocala nupta (Linnaeus, 1767)
1 on 30th August 1987 (J.Fletcher) was the first record for the area.
Attracted to light and sugar, records  fall between the 22 August – 4 October  from Park road , Sowerby Bridge, Northowram ,Todmorden and Gorpley Glough.Usually  only singles recorded but 2 on the 11.Sept.2000 at Park Road. 1 was watched flying during the day at park wood crematorium 30th August 2002 (SW)

2462 Mother Shipton Callistege mi (Clerck, 1759)
Severel recorded near Brighouse on the 29th May 1984(BC)
Established at the eastern end of Calderdale , with reports from Crmowell Bottom ,Copley,Hebden Bridge, Clifton and Northowram in 2008.
