2439 Gold Spot Plusia festucae (Linnaeus, 1758)
Adult flight times are between the firrst week in June and the last week in August,6 recorded at light at Rochdale Road Walsden was the maximum in one night .

Seven record s for this tricky species between 2004 and 2008 and then an increase in records as people started looking for this species when new information on identification was published , it is very similar to Gold Spot to the untrained eye and this may be the reason for so few records. Close examination of  all Gold Spots in July will reveal this species to be commoner than records suggest. The first record  of 1 at  Moor End Gardens  on the 5th August 2004(NCD)was identified by Philip Winter of Whitby on photographic evidence.
