The first record was in 1938 at Elland and was said to appear in great numbers., Although the Buff tip is not a common species in Calderdale, I usually trap one or
two a week throughout May and June,one late record was on the 19th July 2001(PT)

Larvae at crimsworth Dean on September 19th 2005(MH)
2007 records were from Hebden Bridge (6)Todmorden (2)Northowram (1)recorded at light between 21st May and 29th July.
1995 Puss Moth Cerura vinula (Linnaeus, 1758)
Once plentiful in Elland but rarely seen ,last recorded in 1948 & 1952.Attempts to reintroduce this species in 1967/8
Recorded as a larve at Elland most years on sallow and poplar 1999-2007(PT)
1 at light at Wyvern Terrace 3rd May 2007(MH) and 2 at Midgley June 2009 and 1 in 2010.(NC)
1997 Sallow Kitten Furcula furcula (Clerck, 1759)
Recorded at light as follows -
1 at Cromwell Bottom 7th and 12th August 1999 and 14th August 2001.
1 at Park Road 22nd May 1999 and 27th May and Jun 27th , 2001
1 at Moor End Gardens, Pellon on 5th June 2002 amd 7th July 2006.
1 at Todmorden 17th July 2006
1 at Northowram 23rd July 2009
1 found egg laying in Todmorden and at Brookfoot Brighouse in June 2009 (BL & M&Ksharpe).larvae reaered through
2000 Iron Prominent Notodonta dromedarius (Linnaeus, 1767)
Recorded at light between 29th April and 21st August.Larvae found feeding on aspen at Hall wood Todmorden 15th August 2009.
